Abhyanga

The
process of panchakarma is a series of ayurvedic
practices designed to realign our energies, allowing
each [dhatu] to function as intended. Traditionally
it is done twice a year, for seven days. Trained
practitioners and ayurvedic physicians institute
it.

Internal

days of measured ghee ingestion as a precursor to
treatment |
snehana |
ritualized
sesame oil massage by 2 practitioners simultaneously |
swedana |
sweating |

Additional
practices
prescribed for specific imbalances
Because they can be extreme, an ayurvedic physician,
through diagnosis must recommend them specifically
for you. So please, for your own safety do not attempt
to diagnose yourself. Recommended practices may
include one or more of the following: |
basti |
herbal
and oil enemas |
nasya |
nasal
administration of, ghee, herbs, or oils |
virechana |
purgative,
laxative therapy |
vamana |
induced
vomiting |
rakta
moksha |
blood
letting (strictly prohibited in the US) blood purifying
herbs such as burdock are substituted |
